Thu. 08/26 12:38 PM ETOntario: Rider Rundown

J.B. Mauney (Tier B) has now ridden four of his last six bulls, gaining just over a combined 700 points on world leader Renato Nunes (Tier A) in the past two events. Mauney trails Nunes by 2,118.25 points.

Nunes, meanwhile, went two-for-three in Memphis, Tenn., but has just ridden three of his last eight bulls. Austin Meier (Tier A), who ranks second in the world, has also gained some recent ground on Nunes, riding five of his last six bulls.

Among Tier B riders, Shane Proctor and Mike Lee have both ridden three of their last six, while 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi has ridden just two of his last nine. According to a story by PBR Senior Writer Keith Ryan Cartwright posted Thursday at PBR.com, Marchi is considering switching his riding hand from his right to his left. He has faced issues with his riding hand since a chute mishap in Anaheim, Calif., in January.

Going 0-for-Nashville and Memphis, Sean Willingham (Tier B) has ridden just one of his last nine.

Memphis winner Silvano Alves leads the way among Tier C riders, having ridden 9 of 13 since Built Ford Tough Series action resumed from the summer break in Tulsa, Okla.

"I think everybody in the Top 10 better look out for Silvano Alves,” Cartwright said. “Mathematically, he can't get into the Final Five Chase for the Greenville event, but I guarantee you he'll be in the Top 10 before the season is over."

Ben Jones has also been hot of late, riding four of his last six, including his winning efforts at the Jack Daniel's Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.
